Matthias Church

There was probably a church on the site of the Matthias Church for a thousand years. Today it is referred to as the Matthias Church, because the building won its brilliant splendor under King Matthias. 

There are 7 huge bells in the tower. The largest, the Christ Bell, weighs 4.5 tons (it would expose two to three cars). Be sure to climb the 197 stairs of the Matthias Tower and take a look at the castle and Budapest from a height of 46 meters!
